she says.“ I signed a contract in London in November after moving there from Mumbai the same month.” Then, several years later, she made a board with the goal of buying her own apartment, declaring the date of September 21, 2014, to the universe. As I said, once you pop p, you can’ t stop.
“ I picked the date out of the air,” she says.“ I wasn’ t sure how I would do it, but after starting the goal, visualising and using my board as a reminder, I took action. I noticed that
t property next door to where I was renting had opened for viewing. I went in just to get some pictures to my vision board, as I’ d already discovered London property was out of my reach. As I
met with the salesman, he explained the property was‘ shared ownership’, a UK scheme to help first-home buyers get on property ladder. This meant I could buy part of the property and rent the rest. This property was within my reach! As I moved forward and received a schedule of dates and next step I saw I saw that the contract exchange date was September 21, 2014. I literally got tingles!”
Does the universe really have a say in whether you get that pay rise or find a boyfriend? Scientists seem to think so, which is why there is such a thing as the law of attraction. Even Einstein, who we associate with having all the smarts, spoke about this law, and many believe the proof is in the scientific pudding.
“ Science tells us everything in this universe is moving and‘ vibrating’ at a certain frequency in the electromagnetic spectrum,” says Sarah Prout, author of The Power Of Influence.“ This includes the thoughts we think and beliefs that have imprinted in our subconscious minds
since childhood that are expressed through our personal vibration and energy fields.” This is where quantum physics comes into it, explaining the process as‘ like attracts like’.“ We can harness the power of the universe by managing our energy as we move through life”. Prout explains,“ There is so much more to the law of attraction than setting the intention to manifest something and then waiting for it to show up. It’ s about energetically aligning with your desires so you can activate your vibration and it will be magnetically drawn to you. And it’ s also about actively doing something. More often that not, people get too important when they set their intentions, and it creates resistance, which blocks the flow of energy in their life— so their desires won’ t manifest. It’ s about remembering‘ Universal Law’ to ride the wild wave of spiritual expansion.”
Even with the scientific backup, it’ s sometimes hard to imagine or believe we can‘ vibrate’ things into our life. Then you hear about the story of Meher, 31, and you wonder what tricks the universe really does have up its sneaky little sleeves.
“ I made a vision board two years ago and put a picture of a castle in Cinque Terre because I wanted to travel to Italy,” She explains.“ Pulling it out recently, after going on that trip to Italy with my boyfriend, the picture I put on the board is the exact spot we got engaged, down to the view of the restaurant we celebrated in after. I wasn’ t putting it there to get engaged— it wasn’ t even on my radar! My fiancé never saw that board and the only reason he picked that spot was because it was one of the first stops of our trip and he didn’ t want to put off the proposal. He chose that castle after it was suggested as a good
spot to get photos.”
Right now I’ d wager you’ re on your way to the market to collect your vision board starter kit to pin your dreams onto. It all seems so easy, non? You’ re focusing your energy onto something and, in turn, you make sh * t happen. It’ s not some secret— even if that is the title of the book that catapulted the whole idea into our collective consciousness...“ Don’ t think too much about it, sit down, dedicate the time to building it— you don’ t have to consciously look at it every day.”
Meher, now a life coach herself( potentially a byproduct of these boards, who can say? Anything’ s possible) says:“ A lot of people who are really into visualisation mediation and visualise these things coming in life. They’ re the hardcore ones. All this does is make you more aware of these opportunities that you may have overlooked previously.”
Now that you know the big secret( no pun intended) go forth, my lovelies, and become masters of your own universe! n

Add specific prompts or mini to-do lists in accordance with what you’ re working on; look at these every day to stay on track.

3 Every time you have a new idea, write it down and stick it to your vision board so you don’ t forget it.

4 Fill your board with images of the people, places and memories you love the most. Having a visual reminder of good times will help you stay positive and calm, no matter how busy you get.
